Training Directory

How many car drivers simply pass their test at a young age and presume that this will be adequate to keep them safe on the roads for the next forty years or more? It is probably true to say that a greater proportion of motorcyclists take further skills training voluntarily than any other group of road users and this is a good thing. But many more could improve their riding technique and even experienced riders would benefit from a refresher course to polish up the good habits.

Encouraging all bikers to improve their riding skills is at the very heart of what RideSafe BackSafe is all about, so we have compiled a new Training Directory of options for you to choose from.

We cannot list every one; there are hundreds of companies and organisations who could help you. And we haven’t checked them all out; so you will need to take a little time to satisfy yourself that they are right for you.

Make an honest appraisal of your own skills and experience and decide on the best sort of scheme to suit you. “Training” – generally refers to structured courses designed to help you achieve a specific qualification, such as passing your CBT or becoming an Instructor.

Some will refer to “assessments” or “rider development” and it can be confusing, but we think that any time spent analysing and improving your own skills is time well spent.

We have included web addresses and telephone numbers so that you can surf or call, whichever you prefer.  Click on the links below to find further details on both Northwest and National Courses.

. . . and don’t forget to mention RideSafe BackSafe when booking!
