Ello, Ello, Ello...

A very small minority of bikers see a bike meet as an opportunity to impress an ‘audience’ with their antics on the bike and this has even lead to a few injuries and deaths. In response, many police forces attend bike meets as a part of road policing, but this can irritate the responsible majority who are just there for a social gathering; even if they understand why it happens.

Merseyside and Lancashire Police both have representatives in the RideSafe BackSafe team and both are now visiting bike meets with us, to be sociable! Instead of watching from a distance, they are chatting with bikers. Police motorcyclists share our passion for biking, but they are highly trained and very knowledgeable. ‘When questioned’ they will be happy to share their knowledge, discuss road safety issues for bikers and give you the nod on forth-coming enforcement campaigns.
